Family man married to Pam for 51 years.
Two Children, Andy and Jennie.
Three grandchildren, Abigail, Matthew and Jack.
Played football for Little Oakley Club in the 1960s and 70s.he was often there helping out as well as playing, inspite of having two young children.
Dick became a member of Parkeston Bowls Club in 1989 staying several years. Following a short period at Thorpe Bowls Club, where he gained his Essex County Badge, he then followed his wife Pam in joining Dovercourt B C in 2000. While a member of Parkeston Bowls Club he did the wiring for their new premises. Upon joining Thorpe he also did electrical work for their Club. He saved the day at Dovercourt Club when the electricity failed during an evening function. He helped many clubs and friends and was always willing to help whenever he was needed.
A generous, man he loved his very large garden and grew lots of vegetables and fruit which he then gave away to Bowls Club members or sold for our club funds. He also loved to grow flowers he entered and won prizes for his chrysanthemums at local shows.
A popular character who enjoyed his bowling very much. He also loved Pam to bowl and to succeed. Whenever the ladies went to his home to pick up Pam to go to a match or competition, he never failed to come out to them all good luck. When they returned he would be waiting for a “thumbs up” from them.
He will be greatly missed by all at Dovercourt Bowling Club and beyond.
